The Nyung Nay Avalokiteshvara fasting ritual will be held from Sat May 21 starting around 4:15am to Mon morning May 23. A requirement for this is to have had an Avakokiteshvara jenang or permission to practice. There will be a sign up for this in the Deer Park Temple. Anyone intending to participate in this ritual should sign up in the temple or call Drolma at 835-6990.

This practice involves taking only one pre-noon meal on Saturday provided by Deer Park and then fasting until Monday morning until breakfast at Deer Park. The schedule for Saturday and Sunday involves taking the Mahayana precepts (24 hour vows) before sunrise at Deer Park. Sunday is a day of silence with no food or liquids to be taken.

There will be a Guru Puja w/tsok on Wesak which falls on Monday May 23.
